Administrator account takeover via inline raw files
Published Sep 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Stored XSS in FileBrowser before 2.23.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over an administrator account via a crafted file URL. The /api/raw rawFileHandler serves attacker-controlled HTML inline and allows same-origin JavaScript under a CSP that permits self-hosted scripts. A low-privileged account and administrator interaction are required; successful exploitation exposes administrator session data and privileges.
