Unauthenticated file disclosure via type parameter traversal
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025
Path traversal in Software FX Chart FX 7 7.0.4962.20829 allows remote attackers to read server files via crafted web requests. The chartfx70/pss/ChartFX.aspx handler incorporates the attacker-controlled type parameter into a filesystem path without rejecting traversal sequences or drive-letter paths. The endpoint accepts unauthenticated GET requests, exposing any file readable by the PSS service, including files on other Windows volumes.
