CVE-2023-39546Network attack vector

Command execution via reusable password hashes

Published Nov 17, 2023 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Authentication bypass in NEC EXPRESSCLUSTER X and SingleServerSafe 5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run commands. The WebManager/Cluster WebUI authentication path accepts a password hash as the credential instead of verifying the underlying password. Possession of a valid password hash and network access to the management interface are required; successful login enables arbitrary command execution.
