Victim-account takeover via unescaped data-source path

Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Jun 25, 2025

Stored XSS in data_debug.php in The Cacti Group Cacti before 1.2.25 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The debug_view function assigns a data-source path-derived field value to rendered output without HTML escaping. The attacker needs Sites/Devices/Data permission, and execution requires a permitted user to view the poisoned data source, enabling victim-account takeover or actions as that user.
