Account takeover via unescaped device name
Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in data_sources.php in The Cacti Group Cacti before 1.2.25 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. The page inserts the attacker-controlled device name from $name into an Edit Graph link without HTML escaping when a data source is viewed. Sites/Devices/Data permission is required to store the name, and a victim with equal or greater privileges must view the page, enabling victim-account takeover and arbitrary actions as that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
