Code execution via unvalidated TIF parser object
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Use-after-free in TIF parsing in PDF-XChange Editor 9.5.366.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious file. The parser performs operations on an object without confirming it still exists, allowing reuse after free. A target must visit a malicious page or open the file; successful exploitation runs code in the current process.
