CVE-2023-39478Network attack vector

Root code execution via unvalidated server-object creation

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Remote code execution in Softing Secure Integration Server 1.22.0.8686 allows remote authenticated users to run code through OPC UA. OPC FileDirectory namespace handling uses insufficiently validated user data to create a server object outside its intended resource sphere. Exploitation requires authenticated access, although a separate authentication bypass can satisfy that gate, and a successful chain executes code as root.
