Arbitrary code execution via traversal ZIP extraction
Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Path traversal in SHIRASAGI before 1.18.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted ZIP upload. The Open Data dataset-folder import extracts traversal entries outside the intended directory, allowing server files, including ERB views, to be overwritten or created. A valid account with dataset-folder import access is required; successful exploitation runs code in the server context.
