Code execution via DICOM parser buffer overwrite
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Santesoft Sante DICOM Viewer Pro 12.2.4 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DICOM file. The DICOM parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before writing beyond an allocated buffer boundary. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, and successful code runs in the current process context.
