CVE-2023-39422Network attack vector

Unauthorized API access via client-exposed HMAC tokens

Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Authentication weakness in IRM Next Generation allows remote attackers to access /irmdata/api/ functions with exposed HMAC tokens. The booking engine embeds the HMAC tokens used to authenticate these API requests in a JavaScript file delivered to unauthenticated clients, so the client-side secret cannot establish request authenticity. Network access to the booking interface is sufficient; the CNA rates confidentiality and integrity impact as low and availability impact as none.
