Administrative command injection via antivirus scanner configuration
Published Aug 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
OS command injection in North Grid Proself allows remote authenticated users with administrative access to execute arbitrary server commands. The antivirus-scan setting passes an administrator-supplied command line to the operating system when a file is uploaded without restricting it to an approved scanner. Administrative access is required in Enterprise/Standard 5.61 and earlier, Gateway 1.62 and earlier, or Mail Sanitize 1.07 and earlier; executed commands can read or alter server data and interrupt service.
