CVE-2023-39389

Home-screen interruption via improper PMS input validation

Published Aug 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Buffer overflow in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows attackers to make the home screen unavailable through malformed PMS input. The PMS module fails to validate input parameters strictly, but Huawei has not disclosed the affected API, input field, or copy operation. Huawei has not published the access path or privilege requirements; successful exploitation interrupts home-screen use without a reported reboot or data impact.
