Client crash via edge-equal rectangle offsets
Published Aug 31, 2023 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in FreeRDP clients before 2.11.0 and 3.0.0-beta1 through 3.0.0-beta2 allows remote attackers to crash them. The gdi_SolidFill rectangle-intersection check accepts left or top offsets equal to the surface bounds, then writes pixels beyond the heap buffer. A client must connect to a malicious or compromised RDP server and process a crafted graphics solid-fill command; the FreeRDP proxy is not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
