CVE-2023-39265Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated server file creation via SQLite validation bypass

Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Improper input validation in Apache Superset 2.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to register SQLite connections. The connection validator rejects only sqlite:// URIs, letting sqlite+pysqlite bypass the block, while database imports omit the same restriction. A user able to create or import database connections can create server-side files and, when SQLite stores Superset metadata, read or alter application configuration.
