CVE-2023-39250

Encryption-key disclosure via hardcoded AES key

Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Information disclosure in Dell Storage Integration Tools for VMware before 6.1.1 allows local users to retrieve an encryption key. The appliance hardcodes the AES key in its source code, and permissive access to /opt/dellcompellent exposes it to low-privileged accounts. Local low-privileged access is required, and the disclosed key can aid further attacks against stored configuration and password data.
