Authenticated command execution via statistic parameter filtering
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Command injection in the Traffic Analyzer Statistic function in ASUS RT-AC86U 3.0.0.4.386.51529 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The statistics handler passes special-character-bearing parameters into an operating system command without sufficient filtering. Access to a regular user account is required; successful injection permits command execution and can interrupt the router or terminate services.
