CVE-2023-39197Network attack vector

Kernel-memory disclosure via incomplete DCCP header copy

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

An out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel conntrack allows remote attackers to disclose kernel memory via crafted DCCP packets. nf_conntrack_dccp_packet() copies only the basic header into a stack buffer, while dccp_ack_seq() reads optional sequence and packet-type fields beyond that buffer. Exploitation requires DCCP traffic to traverse conntrack; the reported consequence is kernel-memory disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
