Code execution via out-of-bounds DFT structure read
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Solid Edge SE2023 before V223.0 Update 7 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DFT file. The DFT parser reads past the end of an allocated structure when it processes malformed file data. Exploitation requires a local user to open the file, and successful execution runs with the privileges of the current Solid Edge process; a crash is also possible.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
