Credential disclosure via plaintext admin form values
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Cleartext credential storage in Element55 KnowMore 21 and earlier allows remote attackers to read service account passwords. The Exchange, LDAP, SQL, and Shoretel administration pages place saved passwords in HTML password-input value attributes, so asterisks mask them visually while page source reveals the plaintext. Exposure requires access to an affected administration page and discloses credentials that can grant access to connected services.
