Unauthenticated code execution via chained path traversal
Published Aug 4, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025
Path traversal in PaperCut NG and MF before 22.1.3 on Windows allows remote attackers to read, delete, or upload arbitrary files. The authenticated API fails to confine two chained path operations to the Application Server's intended directories, despite requiring no prior privileges. Direct server IP access is required; arbitrary upload leads to code execution when external device integration is enabled.
