Arbitrary SQL execution via modified backup import
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
SQL injection in emlog 2.1.9 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute arbitrary SQL through database import. The admin/data.php import path executes statements from an attacker-modified backup file without restricting them to expected backup content, and admin/user.php exposes the resulting database change. Administrator access and permission to import a modified SQL backup are required, permitting direct database reads and writes under the application's database account.
