Infotainment crash via arbitrary USB data
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in Renault Zoe EV 2021 infotainment firmware 283C35202R through 283C35519R allows attackers to crash the system via USB. Public materials state that the infotainment system processes arbitrary data from an attached USB device, but the parsing component and invalid operation that trigger the crash remain undisclosed. Physical access to the vehicle USB port is required, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to interruption of the infotainment system.
