CVE-2023-39063Public exploit

Local code execution via setup wizard overflow

Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Buffer overflow in RaidenFTPD 2.4.4005 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the setup wizard's Server name field. The wizard accepts a 2,000-byte server-name payload that overwrites the Structured Exception Handler after 497 bytes and redirects execution to embedded code. Exploitation requires local interactive access to open the wizard, paste the crafted value, and advance its dialogs; successful exploitation runs code in the RaidenFTPD process context.
