Arbitrary command execution via unchecked constructor argument
Published Jul 28, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Code injection in webmagic-extension 0.9.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through PhantomJSDownloader. The PhantomJSDownloader constructor accepts phantomJsCommand without validation, and download executes that value as an operating-system command. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled text into the constructor; successful injection runs commands with the hosting Java process's privileges.
