Script execution via unescaped Cron UUID
Published Aug 9, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Reflected XSS in OPNsense Community Edition before 23.7 and Business Edition before 23.4.2 allows remote attackers to run scripts. ItemController.php's openAction assigns the URL-supplied UUID directly to selected_uuid, allowing it to enter the Cron view's JavaScript without HTML encoding. An administrator must open a crafted link; the script then runs in the OPNsense origin and can issue requests with that session's privileges.
