Administrator-session compromise via unescaped log-path values
Published Aug 9, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Reflected XSS in OPNsense Community Edition before 23.7 and Business Edition before 23.4.2 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript. LogController::renderPage assigns URL-derived module and scope values to the diagnostics log view without HTML encoding, embedding them in JavaScript contexts. An authenticated administrator must open the crafted URL; the script then runs in the OPNsense origin and can act with that session's privileges.
