Administrator password reset via hidden API
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Authentication bypass in ZKTeco BioTime 8.5.5 allows remote attackers to reset the Administrator password through a crafted web request. A hidden API endpoint accepts the request without authentication and performs the password reset operation. Network access to the BioTime service is sufficient; successful exploitation changes administrator credentials and can enable subsequent administrative access.
