Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked deviceId formatting
Published Aug 7, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC5, AC6, AC7, AC9, F1203, FH1203, and FH1205 firmware allows remote attackers to crash routers or execute code. The httpd formSetClientState handler passes the unbounded deviceId request value to sprintf, which can overwrite the stack buffer buff. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted /SetClientState request can interrupt service or run code on an affected build.
