Unauthenticated code execution via undersized list storage
Published Aug 7, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC-series and F1203/FH1203 router firmware allows remote attackers to execute code via the list parameter. The /bin/httpd setaccount handler reads the request-supplied list value and assigns it to mess.set_list, whose backing allocation is too small. The unauthenticated /cloudv2 endpoint permits either process interruption or arbitrary code execution on the router.
