Stored script execution via unneutralized carousel URLs
Published Aug 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Stored XSS in CSZ CMS 1.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary scripts through carousel URL fields. The Carousel Widget editor stores the YouTube URL and Photo URL values without neutralizing crafted HTML and JavaScript before rendering the carousel. Administration-panel access is required to create or edit the carousel, and a viewer must load the stored content for code to run in that viewer's browser context.
