Unauthenticated browser script execution via unencoded ajax parameter
Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in OS4ED openSIS Classic Community Edition 9.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through ParentLookup.php. ParentLookup.php reflects the ajax query value into an HTML attribute without output encoding, letting a quote close the attribute and introduce a script element. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to open a crafted URL, and successful execution can read or alter data available to that browser context.
