Arbitrary file read via filename path traversal
Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in OS4ED openSIS Classic Community Edition 9.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files without authentication. DownloadWindow.php accepts the filename query parameter as a filesystem path without confining it to an authorized directory, so ../ sequences escape the intended location. A network request to the exposed PHP endpoint is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of files readable by the web server.
