Script execution via unencoded selector reflection
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Reflected XSS in msaad1999 PHP-Login-System 2.0.1 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a user's browser via a crafted URL. The /reset-password endpoint reflects the selector parameter into an HTML attribute without context-appropriate encoding, so a quote can terminate the attribute and inject script markup. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted reset link; the script executes in the site's browser origin and can read or alter data available to that user.
