Browser script execution via unsanitized reset validator
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Reflected XSS in msaad1999 PHP-Login-System 2.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted reset link. The /reset-password page reflects the validator query value without neutralizing HTML metacharacters, causing an injected script element to be interpreted as markup. No authentication is required, but a user must open the attacker-controlled URL; successful exploitation runs code in that user's browser context.
