User enumeration via account-dependent authentication responses

Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

User enumeration in Economizzer 0.9-beta1 allows remote attackers to identify valid usernames and email addresses via login requests. The login and forgot-password flows return observably different responses depending on whether the submitted account identifier exists. Repeated unauthenticated requests can build a list of valid account identifiers without altering application data.
