Arbitrary command execution via management POST parameters
Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Command injection in COMFAST CF-XR11 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted management request. The sub_415588 handler in /usr/bin/webmgnt parses POST-supplied interface and display_name values and uses attacker-controlled content for command execution without effective neutralization. No user interaction is required, and successful exploitation provides a shell on the router with confidentiality, integrity, and availability consequences.
