Arbitrary command execution via portal filename injection
Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Command injection in COMFAST CF-XR11 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted portal filename. The sub_41171C function in /usr/bin/webmgnt obtains portal_delete_picname with blobmsg_parse and passes the unneutralized value into command execution. The published request targets the management interface and includes a COMFAST_SESSIONID cookie; successful exploitation grants a shell on the router.
