Remote command execution via unsanitized username
Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Command injection in Wavlink WL-WN575A3 R75A3_V1410_220513 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via username. The set_sys_adm function in adm.cgi reads username from POST data and incorporates it into command execution without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Network access to the HTTP management interface is required, and successful injection can write command output into web-accessible appliance files.
