Authenticated code execution via diagnostic input injection
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Command injection in Netis Systems WF2409E 3.6.42541 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through diagnostic tools. The web administration interface sends crafted Ping or Traceroute input containing shell metacharacters to system commands without neutralization. Access to the authenticated management interface is required; successful injection runs commands with the privileges of the affected router process and permits data access, modification, or service interruption.
