Code execution via out-of-bounds CXP file read
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.80 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted CXP file. CXP project files are compressed binary files, but OMRON has not published the affected parser routine or the precise bounds error. Opening the file requires user interaction and can expose information or execute arbitrary code in the user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
