Authenticated denial of service via unset selectors
Published Aug 25, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Libreswan 4.6 through 4.11 allows remote authenticated users to restart the pluto daemon via IKEv1. The IKEv1 Quick Mode connection lookup passes unset local or remote client selectors derived from a mismatched IDcr payload into selector operations instead of rejecting them. Only successfully authenticated IKEv1 peers can reach this path; repeated malformed requests can keep the VPN keying daemon unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
