JavaScript execution via unescaped item names
Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Mskocik Svelecte before 3.16.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via crafted item names. The default and documented custom item renderers insert item names as raw HTML without escaping, so event-handler markup executes when the dropdown opens. Exploitation requires an application to accept attacker-controlled or low-trust item data and a user to open the dropdown; a restrictive Content Security Policy can block inline script execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
