Code execution via SPP parser buffer overwrite
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation allows attackers to execute code through a crafted SPP file. The SPP parser writes past the end of an allocated buffer when it processes the malformed file, corrupting process memory. Exploitation requires a user to open the file in an affected V2201 build before V2201.0008 or V2302 build before V2302.0002; resulting code runs in the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
