CVE-2023-38640

Configuration disclosure and tampering via insecure folder permissions

Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Incorrect permissions in Siemens SICAM PAS/PQS V8.00 through V8.21 allow local users to read and modify application configuration data. The installer assigns overly broad permissions to undisclosed application files and folders, exposing configuration resources to low-privileged accounts. Authenticated local access is required; abuse can disclose or tamper with configuration in the application process context and interrupt its availability.
