CVE-2023-38575

Local information disclosure via incomplete prediction barrier

Published Mar 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Information disclosure in Intel Processors' return prediction allows local users to read sensitive data across execution contexts. An incomplete branch prediction barrier permits return predictor targets to remain non-transparently shared between contexts. Low-privilege local execution is required; the documented consequence is confidentiality loss without integrity or availability impact.
