Code execution via X_T parser buffer overwrite
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Parasolid and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to execute code when a crafted X_T file is opened. The X_T parser writes past an allocated buffer in Parasolid 34.1 before 34.1.258, 35.0 before 35.0.254, and 35.1 before 35.1.197, and Teamcenter Visualization 14.1 before 14.1.0.11, 14.2 before 14.2.0.6, and 14.3 before 14.3.0.3. Exploitation requires a user or consuming application to open the file and runs code only in the context of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
