CVE-2023-38524

Process crash via crafted X_T parsing

Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Null pointer dereference in Siemens Parasolid and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to crash the process through a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser dereferences a null pointer while processing attacker-controlled file structures, terminating the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, and the vendor's impact assessment supports service interruption rather than data access or modification.
