Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Jul 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in OpenRapid RapidCMS 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The /admin/upload.php handler accepts a client-supplied PHP filename and content without enforcing an extension allowlist, then stores it under /upload. Administrative access to article editing is required; a stored PHP web shell executes with the web server's privileges.
