CVE-2023-38500Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unencoded noscript child nodes

Published Jul 25, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Cross-site scripting in TYPO3 HTML Sanitizer 1.0.0 through 1.5.0 and 2.0.0 through 2.1.1 allows remote attackers to inject script. The serialization layer emits attacker-controlled noscript child content and tag attributes without the context-specific encoding required during browser parsing. Exploitation requires a consuming application to enable the nondefault noscript element, accept malicious markup, and render the sanitized output in a user's browser.
