CVE-2023-3845Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Reflected XSS via unescaped ajax_invite path

Published Jul 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Reflected XSS in mooSocial mooDating 1.2 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted ajax_invite URL. The /friends/ajax_invite handler reflects an appended request-path payload into an HTML 404 response without encoding it, allowing injected markup and event handlers to execute. A victim must open the crafted URL; published assessments disagree on whether the request requires low-privileged authentication.
